Gastric Bypass

Gastric Bypass

Also known as Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RNY), is a type of bariatric surgery that involves altering the stomach and small intestine to promote weight loss in individuals with severe obesity. This procedure involves creating a small pouch at the top of the stomach and rerouting the small intestine to connect to the pouch, bypassing a portion of the stomach and small intestine. This procedure cannot be reversed.
